Refusing to name the four legislators, Kandolkar, however, said that he would not mind if Tivim’s Congress MLA Nilkant Halarnkar were to join the BJP.
“For the interest of my party, I am ready to sacrifice my political career. I have no issues if the Tivim MLA joins the party,” he told The Goan, while addressing a news conference in the
BJP’s party office in Mapusa. BJP’s North Goa District, chief, Sukhaji Naik was also present.
Slamming the Congress for filing a disqualification petition against Vishwajeet Rane, he said the Congress was trying to distract the attention to overcome the rumblings within its members.
“The petition against Rane is a joke. How can someone file a disqualification appeal against a person who is not even a member of the House?” he questioned. “By filing the petition, the Congress leaders have made a fool of themselves,” he added.
He further said that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane would win the by-elections with a huge margin.
The former Tivim MLA said people of Tivim had regretted having elected the Congress nominee and said that his focus was on panchayat elections.
“We will field a panel in the panchayat elections and our panel will definitely get majority,” he said.
