BICHOLIM
Four candidates have been elected unopposed in Bicholim taluka, after scrutiny of nominations were completed on Tuesday.
While Krishna Arolkar (Latambarcem) and Gitesh Gadekar (Advalpal) were elected unopposed in Bicholim constituency, Suvarna Chodankar (Mayem) and Chetan Khodginkar from (Pilgao) were also elected unopposed.
Chief minister Pramod Sawant and Bicholim MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye later congratulated both newly elected panchas from Bicholim constituency.
Returning Officers Lakshmikant Kuttikar and Apurva Karpe told media persons that all nominations were accepted after scrutiny. Withdrawal of nominations will be allowed on Wednesday.
