Cuncolim police personnel fanned out behind the St Anthony Church at Cabo de Rama on Friday evening to lay their hands on the tabernacle stolen from the Church in 2009 as accused Francis Pereira insisted that he had hidden the tabernacle somewhere behind the Church on August 3, eight years ago.
The search was withdrawn by the men-in-uniform after sunset and indications from the Cuncolim police revealed that the police might resume the search operation during the weekend in a bid to lay their hands on the missing tabernacle.
Accused Francis Pereira, who was taken into custody by the Cuncolim police on a transfer warrant a day ago, was taken to the St Anthony Church at Cabo de Rama which was vandalised way back on August 3, 2009.
