MARGAO
Hazard a guess what exactly brought Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai together at Sonsodo on Wednesday, after a month when they gunned for each other over the issue.
When the media posed the question to the duo, the Goa Forward chief replied in a lighter vein that a drink has brought them together once again.
In fact, the duo gelled well as they went about the task of identifying land for the storage of inert items generated through the remediation process. In fact, Sardesai even came down from the dump along with MMC vice-Chairperson Tito Cardozo, to find out whether he can make available some land for the Corporation to store the inert items. After saying in a lighter vein that a drink has brought them together, Sardesai was quick to say that Lobo is a task master, adding that the Minister is not only capable of taking up the Sonsoddo challenge, but offered his full cooperation and support for the success of the remediation exercise and to work out a lasting solution for Sonsodo.
The turn around came after Sardesai and his supporters had last time turned up at Sonsodo with black flags and Lobo giving his friend a snub by returning home without meeting the Fatorda MLA.
