Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party Goa desk in-charge, Atishi Marlena on Saturday pooh poohed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim on setting up of fast track courts to expedite trial the paper leak cases.
Addressing the media in the presence of AAP Goa in-charge, Valmiki Naik and senior leader Roque Mascarenhas, Atishi claimed that that the mastermind behind he 2024 paper leak has been given a clean chit by the CBI investigating the case.
She said the fast tracks courts will serve no purpose if the investigating agencies gives clean chits to the accused involved in the case.
“Till date, not a single accused charged for paper leaks have been convicted. The government may set up fast track courts, but the Courts will take action oinly when the government file a charge sheet in the court with evidence”, she said.
She further pointed out that another paper leak accused was granted bail within two months because the CBI did not file the charge sheet in the court.
“When the investigating agencies are not filing the charge sheets for trial, how can you expect the Courts to deliver justice”, she wondered.
Meanwhile, AAP Velim MLA Cruz Silva has said the resignation of the Union Education Minister is a victory of the youth. “Your unity made the nation listen. There will be attempts to divide you. Don't let them succeed. Stay united, stay peaceful, and keep standing for justice”, Silva said.
