Furnish proof or file complaint, Lobo on minister’s sex scandal

PANAJI

A day after Congress State president Girish Chodankar alleged a scandal involving sexual harassment of a woman by an unidentified minister, Ports Minister Michael Lobo exhorted him to either furnish evidence or file a formal complaint instead of using the issue for political ends.

Addressing journalists in his chamber, Lobo said it would be in the fitness of things and the interest of the purported victim that Chodankar submits whatever material he has to the Chief Minister so it can be investigated and action taken.

In the alternative, Chodankar should file a police complaint, Lobo said.

With the cloud of suspicion descending on all ministers after Chodankar's public allegation, Lobo said if he has proof as he claims, this should be furnished to the Chief Minister (government) so it can be investigated.

It is also necessary that Chodankar reveal the identity of the minister involved or a formal complaint is filed before the police, he added.
