The Goa State Pollution Control Board on Wednesday got around 15-odd rooms belonging to Furtado’s guest house, Sernabatim, sealed by officials of the Salcete mamlatdar.
GSPCB officials informed that the rooms have been sealed since the owner had no consent from the Board to operate them.
Following an order issued by the District Collector, South, officials of the Salcete mamlatdar descended on Sernabatim Wednesday evening to execute the order of sealing the rooms.
A senior Pollution Control Board official clarified that the Board had ordered sealing of the rooms since these did not have the mandatory consent.
A notice pasted on one of the rooms stated that the functioning of the unit/premise/room is stopped/closed/sealed as per the Order No 37/11/2017/MAG/GSPCB dated June 20, 2018, from the Collector/District Magistrate, South Goa, Margao.
