The local party ‘Goencho Avaaz Party’ on Saturday announced that Swapnesh Sherlekar and Roshan Mathias will be the candidates for the Assembly elections in 2022 of the party from Tivim and Calangute constituency respectively.
The party will be announcing more candidates in other constituencies over the time.
“More candidates will be declared as per the requests of the people,” said Captain Viriato Fernandes State convenor of Goencho Avaaz while announcing two names in a press conference on Saturday.
He said that party will give candidature to clean and honest candidates as per suggestions and demand from the people.
He said the two candidates declared were active for last many agitations for preserving Goa and the party unanimously took a decision to nominate them as candidates.
Goencho Avaaz Party remains committed to fulfilling ‘Mission Clean-up Goa Politics’, said Captain Viriato.
Environmental issues, financial conditions of the State, unemployment are the issues that will be raised by the party,” said Captain Viriato.
Roshan Mathias, Vice President of Goencho Avaaz and candidate for Calangute constituency said that the land-grabbing by land mafias is a major issue faced by Calangutkars and he will raise this issue during campaigning.
He said after serving as a social work and fighting for issues for the last many years he now has decided to enter into politics to become a voice of people.
