PANAJI
Ahead of the monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly on July 21, the North Goa District Magistrate has issued prohibitory orders banning gatherings of five or more people around the Secretariat and across Panaji.
The order bans the gathering of five or more people, organising processions, carrying firearms or weapons like lathis, swords, daggers or spears, using loudspeakers, shouting slogans, and lighting fires in public places, streets, roads, squares, by-lanes or open spaces within 500 metres of the Assembly Complex at Porvorim and in areas under Panaji Police Station.
The restrictions have been put in place in view of the Tenth Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly. The order will be in force from 10 am on July 21 until the Assembly session ends.
