The North Goa police have busted the Pardi gang, arresting three members linked to a house break-in at Chimbel and an attack on a taxi driver at Pernem. SP Rahul Gupta said this is the first time Goa police have caught Pardi gang members, who have been involved in house thefts across Maharashtra and recently moved to Goa.
Gang leader Waseem Tajahmad from Vasco and Prem Baddi from Hubli were arrested for the Chimbel theft, where silver worth Rs 15,000 was stolen on July 9. They were caught after a chase on Anmod Ghat. In the Pernem case, a 65-year-old taxi driver was attacked by six men trying to steal his taxi. A bus ticket led police to a minor with a stolen bike in Sawantwadi. The minor identified five accomplices, including two arrested in Bangalore. Both cases are linked, and Goa police have three accused in custody.
