A family dispute turned violent in Zuarinagar on Monday morning, leading to a public brawl where a sword was brandished, leaving locals shaken. Verna police later arrested businessman Parshuram Harijan (41) in connection with the incident near the Hanuman Temple in Zari, Zuarinagar, around 8.30 am.
Six locals, identified as Parshuram Harijan, Yamnappa Harijan, Manjunath Harijan, Hanumantha Madar, Rudreshkumar Madar, and Parshuram Madar, were involved in the fight. During the altercation, Harijan allegedly threatened the opposing party with a sword, creating fear in the area and disturbing public peace. Following a complaint by PSI Ramchandra Naik, Verna police registered an offence under Section 194(2) of the BNS 2023 and Section 27(1) of the Arms Act.
Harijan was arrested on Monday evening and is in police custody.
