Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude sought to sidestep and refused to wade into the controversy surrounding the cancellation of Konkani literary awards in the light of former BJP MLA Vishnu Wagh's collection of poems ‘Sudhir Sukt' being shortlisted
for an award, saying that it was not his
domain.
"I don't want to touch that issue... He who complained should have thought about this -- He is totally bed ridden," Gaude, a prominent leader of the state's scheduled communities said adding that the law will take its own course and that the case should not be given too much importance.
"Should we give this complaint really any importance? We are nobody to interfere. I have so many cases against me. I am a social worker. The government put cases against me. I fought for that. I will support him (Wagh) in this case," Gaude said, while refusing to comment further.
