The Colva Civic and Consumer Forum has sought the immediate intervention of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) to stop the development taking place at the Sernabatim beach belt.
Consumer Forum Secretary Judith Almeida on Friday sent video and photos of the land development taking place at Sernabatim beach to the GCZMA Member Secretary with a plea to act on her complaint.
Judith is also believed to have drawn the attention of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Margao to the development work going on at the beach.
“What is going on at the Sernabatim beach is blatantly illegal. I have sent the video and photos of the land development going on right on the beach to the GCZMA Member Secretary,” Judith told the media.
The social activist has warned that she would be forced to knock the doors of the judiciary if the concerned authorities fail to act against the person’s involved in the development.
