PONDA
The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has advised junior leaders in the Congress party to learn from their senior leaders and play the role of a constructive opposition.
Addressing a news conference in Ponda, GFP Vice President Durgadas Kamat hit out at the Congress for criticising TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai over the regional plan and taunted the Congress as a ‘tea party of activists’.
“If they (Congress) were serious about the regional plan, they why did they not move a cut motion to scrap it,” asked Kamat.
“These ‘loud boxes’ in Congress should learn from senior leader like Pratapsing Rane and Ravi Naik. They have very good experience in politics. They should learn from them how to play the role of a constructive opposition,”
Kamat said.
“Curtorim MLA Reginald Lourenco should remember to how many projects he had given clearance when he had headed the SGPDA. Other leaders who are shouting against the PDA should also introspect,” he said.
Kamat said the GFP would expand its work across the State.
“Youth and other people are getting attracted to GFP because of the leadership shown by Vijai Sardesai. He has delivered in his Fatorda constituency and also in other areas through his portfolios. We will work for even our opponents if they come to us with their issues,” Kamat said.
GFP Vice President Akbar Mulla and Ponda leader Rajesh Verenkar were also present on the occasion.
The GFP taluka office in Ponda will be inaugurated on Sunday and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai and other leaders will be present on the occasion.
Goa Forward Party Ponda leader Rajesh Verenkar said his target is to add 10,000 votes in the next assembly election. Verenkar, who lost last assembly election as an independent candidate, had secured around 5,000 votes in the polls.
