Goa Forward Party Mayem candidate Santosh Sawant on Saturday continued his door-to-door canvassing in Chorao. He was accompanied by GFP Vice President Dr Renuka Da Silva & General Secretary (Org) Durgadas Kamat and Chairman of Goa Congress Research Cell and Secretary of Manifesto Committee Avinash Tavares along with local Congress workers.
The inadequacy of the existing ferry service from Chorao to Ribandar, being one of the major grievances of the residents, Santosh Sawant promised them that his top priorities would include commissioning of a RO-RO (roll on-roll off) ferry service on the route to enhance the vehicle carrying capacity. “This should take care of the difficulties faced by the people here in travelling to Panaji and elsewhere because of the long delays caused by the present frequency and size of the ferry-boats which cannot cater to the rising demand”, he stated.
