PONDA: In what could be an embarrassment to the Goa Forward, a coalition in the BJP-led government, Panchawadi sarpanch and staunch GFP supporter Vishant Gaonkar has supported the MGP in Shiroda even sharing the dais with the regional party leaders.
Speaking to The Goan, Gaonkar clarified he has not resigned from GFP, but has supported MGP for development.
“I am supporting MGP on an individual level, only because I want to see development,” justified Gaonkar, alleging that BJP candidate Subhash Shirodkar had done nothing for Shiroda.
Marcaim MLA and senior MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar, MGP candidate Deepak Dhavalikar, Abhay Prabhu and others were also present.
In an apparent jibe at Shirodkar, Dhavalikar said it was ironical that a person, who could not undertake development during his 30 years as MLA, was now speaking about a master plan for Shiroda. “He is around 65 years old. When will he implement the master plan,” asked Dhavalikar.
