Goa Government Employees Association has demanded withdrawal of service extension to officiating Chief Electrical Engineer Neelakanta Reddy and give the charge to the senior most Superintending Engineer L D Kolvekar.
GGEA last month too had petitioned Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar on the issue.
"It is given to understand that the government has recently issued a transfer order and posted Superintending Engineer L D Kolvekar against the post held by Reddy. It is also given to understand that the status of Reddy has not been made clear and he cannot technically discharge the duties of CEE in the absence of any clear order," the GGEA has stated in their petition.
"Though it looks like the government has taken cognizance of GGEA's request and withdrawn the service extension to Reddy, nothing can be said in the absence of any formal order," pointed GGEA.
