Godinho inspected ground and discussed the various difficulties faced by children who use the ground. He also discussed various options that can be implemented to improve the facilities at the ground. Speaking to the media at the playground, Godinho informed that after discussion with SAG officials it was realised that grass cannot be laid at the ground but the authorities can fill it with mud and do levelling to improve the playing condition. Godinho also said that the ground will get fencing all around so no anti-social elements can access the ground and misuse it.
It was informed that a stage will be erected at the facility which people can use for functions and during the matches that will be played there. There are plans to have seating arrangement for spectators on both sides of the ground while a changing room with a toilet will also be constructed.
"My aim is to have basic facilities and we are drawing out estimates to improve overall condition of this ground and give it a facelift," Godinho said. He further informed that illumination of the ground will be taken up immediately and existing lights will be repaired.
Godinho further said that he has plans to develop playgrounds at Chicalim, Dabolim and Bogmalo soon. "Chicalim ground inspection was done some time ago and now it has reached Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) stage and very soon the work will be tendered. The work of Chicalim grounds will commence as well. Next I am moving to Dabolim and Bogmalo," he informed.
"Once panchayat transfers the ground to SAG that was earlier transferred to them by a private party, the work for Dabolim ground will also commence," Godinho further added.
