GKF team visits Mangaluru to discuss justice for Romi

A delegation of the Global Konknni Forum visited Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario in Kalanngann at Mangalore on Wednesday and appraised him of the ongoing movement of Global Konknni Forum to demand justice for Konknni in the Official Language Act (OLA).

Forum Secretary Salvado Fernandes said Eric Ozario has once again reiterated his support to Global Konknni Forum to get justice for Romi Script and to fight for equal status to all scripts at Sahitya Akademi level.

Salvado said Global Konknni Forum is indebted to the invaluable suggestions and directions by Ozario towards its journey to fight against the injustice met to Roman script in OLA, and other scripts of Konknniat Sahitya Akademi level.

Besides Global Konknni Forum's Secretary Jose Salvador Fernandes, other members of the delegation, includes treasurer Aplon Rebello, executive members Xavier Mascarenhas (Xavier de Maina), Nora Antao e Souza, Vivek Menezes, Mandd Sobhann Gurukar Eric Ozario, convenor of the Konkani Writers’ Association Karnataka Richard Moras and Mandd Sobhann member Elon Rodrigues attended the meeting today at Kalaangann, Mangalore.

In order to decide the future course of action and to intensify the demand for Romi Script in OLA, a special executive committee meeting has been convened by Global Konknni Forum on 20th February, 2025.
