MARGAO
Town and Country Planning Minister VIjai Sardesai has hit back at Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco saying his sudden and unjustified outbursts against the government is part of his posturing with the high command for the GPCC president’s post for which he just met Cong President Rahul Gandhi behind the back of his own partymen and lobbied for himself by painting his party rivals as incompetent and unworthy.
“Reginaldo’s eagerness to project himself as the biggest critic of the government has nothing to do with Goemkar and Goemkarponn, which by the way was introduced to mainstream politics by Goa Forward and not the Congress,” Sardesai said.
A day after the Congress MLA had termed members of the Cabinet Advisory Committee (CAC) Sudin Dhavalikar, Vijai Sardesai and Francis D’Souza as three blind mice, Sardesai said it’s quite clear to everybody that the glamour of the GPCC president’s post has blinded the Congress MLA to reality so much that he’s willing to tarnish his own party rivals in front of Rahul
Gandhi, and attempt to emerge as a forerunner for the president’s post. The TCP Minister pointed out that thousands of bars owned by Goemkars were given relief by the same
CAC which he is accusing of inaction.
“His presence at Lohia Maidan is not for the benefit of Goa or even the Goa Congress but for only his own benefit. He seems to be totally blinded by ambition and is resorting to hollow posturing to achieve his personal aims. Those who say there won’t be any Goans left in Goa should ask Reginaldo first about the migrant slum in Curtorim and his exhortation in the Legislative Assembly to the government to operationalise the RP at the earliest,” Sardesai said, adding “Reginaldo is blind to his own previous stands on orchard land conversion and the RP. I hope at the Lohia Maidan, Reginaldo will reveal his master plan for Goa and whether it is along the lines of Kargil, a migrant colony in Curtorim constituency.”
