Goa’s medical fraternity is set to benefit from the expertise of some of the world’s leading cancer pathologists and cytologists at a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme scheduled from January 23 to 26, 2026, at Clube Gaspar Dias, Miramar.
The CME, focused on histopathology and cytopathology, will bring together an impressive faculty of internationally acclaimed doctors from the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
Among the distinguished speakers are Dr Ronald Ghossein, Director of Head and Neck Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), New York; Dr Nora Katabi, Consultant Pathologist also at MSK; Dr Rafael Jimenez, Professor of Pathology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester; and Dr Megha Joshi, Head of Pathology at Beth Israel Lahey, Massachusetts.
India’s representation will be equally strong, with eminent faculty from premier institutions including AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai, SGPGI Lucknow, and other leading medical institutes.
Goa’s own Dr R G Wiseman Pinto, Professor of Pathology, former Dean of Goa University, and President of the South Asian Academy of Cytopathology and Histopathology (SACH), will also be part of the faculty.
The CME will cover a broad spectrum of subjects critical to modern pathology. Sessions will include discussions on head and neck tumours, salivary gland and thyroid pathology, urogenital pathology, pulmonary pathology, breast and oral cancers, gastrointestinal tract pathology, gynaecological pathology, infectious diseases, and soft tissue and bone tumours.
Emerging areas such as digital pathology, molecular biomarkers for diagnosis, congenital anomalies, PEComa (perivascular epithelioid cell tumours), and cytopathology in clinical practice will also be highlighted. Slide seminars will provide practical insights for participants.
