Through a memorandum issued on November 22, the personnel department had informed government departments that a halt was imposed on all recruitment processes in government and aided institutions so as to facilitate the implementations of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.
Meanwhile, sources from the police department disclosed that the exams and others tests have recently concluded for 103 posts which include 53 police constables of Indian Reserve Battalion, 34 sub-inspectors and 16 constables of Goa Police.
The ban on fresh recruitment has forced the authorities to keep the results of these posts on hold. A review of these posts is likely after six months.
In addition to this, 396 more posts have been advertised by Goa Police in order to recruit the required staff including 31 constables, around 25 support staff, 221 IRB police constables and 119 Goa Police constables.
The examination for the 119 posts of Goa Police constables was scheduled to be held on November 17. However, on the backdrop of the recruitment ban, this test will be rescheduled at a later date.
All the secretaries to the government are to submit a compliance report by today (November 25) on the implementation of the office memorandum in their respective departments and institutions to the Personnel Department with a copy to Finance Department.
