The Goa Board Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination for the year 2024 is set to kick off tomorrow, February 28th, and will continue until March 18th. Taking place across 20 examination centers statewide, the examinations will commence daily at 9:30 a.m., with candidates advised to arrive at their designated centers 45 minutes before the start.
A total of 17,987 candidates will participate in this year's examination, including 8,550 boys and 9,437 girls.
The arts stream will see 4,309 students, comprising 1,379 boys and 2,930 girls, while the commerce stream will have 5,320 students, with 2,841 boys and 2,479 girls. In the science stream, 5,883 students are expected to participate, consisting of 2,616 boys and 3,267 girls. Additionally, 2,475 students will answer exams in vocational streams, with 1,714 boys and 761 girls.
In the previous year, 2023, the HSSC exam followed a two-terminal system, where results were finalised based on performance in the 1st and 2nd term exams. Out of the 19,377 candidates who appeared for the March 2023 exam, 18,479 successfully passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 95.46%.
