A special general body meeting of Goa Dairy will be held on September 2 at 10.30 am at Curti, following directives from the Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
Over one-third of societies affiliated to Goa Dairy had demanded disciplinary action against Managing Director Dr Navasu Sawant, after accusing him of failing to adhere to the order to convene a general body meeting.
When contacted, Dr Sawant told The Goan on Monday that Board of Directors had convened a meeting and had decided to call for a general body meeting on September 2.
The registrar had directed Dr Sawant on June 11 and again on July 25 to convene meeting of the general body to place the inquiry report and take necessary action, but the BoD had not taken any step in this direction.
Sixty of the 178 societies affiliated to Goa Dairy have signed a letter demanding disciplinary action against Dr Sawant for not obeying the order of the registrar.
