Exactly a week after he quit the post of Goa Forward Party president, Prabhakar Timble has severed his ties with the nascent regional party as he submitted his resignation from the founder/primary members of the party on Monday, saying the U-turn made by the three Goa Forward legislators against the mandate of the people was nothing but a political dacoity.
On the other hand, Goa Forward mentor Vijai Sardesai said it is indeed unfortunate that Timble has
disassociated himself from the party though the party would have liked to have him in its fold to take the Goa Forward agenda forward.
“It is unfortunate that Timble has quit from the primary membership of the party. I can only say that only time will heal the wounds,” Vijai said.
Timble declined to outline the reasons behind his decision, saying he wants to save the GFparty from embarrassment by his disassociation as
he needs to guard his ‘Goemkarponn.”
“It is with pain and deep regret that I convey my resignation from the Founder/Primary membership of the Goa Forward Party. I assume my reasons are known to all and I do not wish to elaborate further to save the ridicule of being painted as a theoretician with no knowledge of practical politics,” Timble said in his resignation letter to the party general secretary.
When The Goan asked him for his comments on his short stint in a political party, Timble said he has always been into politics as a commentator and an analyst and will continue to do so in the future. “I had to take a stand on the political developments unfolding in the party over the last one week. I call it a political dacoity because of the U-turn made by the GFP legislators soon after the results. It would have been a political pick-pocketing if the trio had to take some steps after some time. And, it would have been democracy if the three legislators had to give their dissenting voices,” he said.
Replying to a question, he said though he has severed his ties with the nascent political party, he would continue his association with politics as a political commentator and analyst.

the goan I networkMARGAO  That’s not all. The State Audit in its report 2015-16 has stressed the need to carry out a special audit of the A Class Margao Municipal Council to overcome the financial situation and has held the firm view that the Council should avoid unwanted and unauthorised expenditure and initiate necessary action to recover the outstanding taxes, rent, etc and generate revenue.  That all is not well with the MMC finances is evident by the fact that…
