Goa Forward Party president, Prabhakar Timble said that the party is hoping for an alliance possibly with the Congress and was looking to bargain for 12 seats in any such tie-up.
Addressing media persons on the occasion of welcoming into the party fold three persons, who they say are former volunteers of the Aam Aadmi Party, Timble said that he would not like to speak much as currently negotiations are underway.
“We are preparing ourselves in 18 constituencies, but in the event of an alliance we will contest 12 constituencies,” Timble said.
“Currently negotiations are on and we would not like to speak much about it,” Timble added.
Earlier, the party formally announced the candidature of Vinod Palyekar for the Siolim constituency and launched the manifesto specifically for the constituency.
As part of the manifesto, Palyekar has promised underground cabling in Siolim, illumination along the beaches, 10-year shack licences for both private and public shacks, doing away with goonda raj and corruption besides also “land grabbing” by the current MLA.
