Addressing a news conference on Sunday, GSM secretary Adv Hridhaynath Shirodkar launched a scathing attack on Naik.

“Mahadev Naik even failed to promote Siddhanath Parvat as a tourism spot. In Shiroda, the only credit to his name is a land scam on the pretext of industrial estates. We will expose him at the right time,” Shirodkar alleged.

Referring to the MoI issue, Shirodkar said BJP betrayed them and also created a rift between Hindus and Christians. “As we were fed up of the corruption by Congress, we supported BJP, but the ratio of this (BJP) government doubles than them,” he said.

“Congress and BJP shouldn't form the next government. We are optimistic that Goa Suraksha Manch will form the government,” he added.

According to Shirodkar, Mauvin Godinho's entry in BJP itself speaks about the ‘principles’ of the saffron party. “It was Manohar Parrikar who had complained against Godinho, but the same leader welcomed him," he pointed out.

Claiming that he was a loyal BJP leader from Shiroda, GSM Shiroda block president Utkarsh Prabhu Borkar claimed that those seen with Mahadev Naik are ‘imported’ from other parties. “We were not satisfied with his politics and hence left that party,” he added.

Office bearers Govind Dev, Santosh Satarkar and Subhash Naik were present on the occasion.
