Defending their party president Vijai Sardesai, and next in line to attack RSS ex-chief and current Goa Suraksha Manch chief Subhash Velingkar, were the youth of the Goa Forward party.
The youth wing of the party decided to lash out against Velingkar on Wednesday saying that anyone who undermined the importance of the Opinion Poll verdict was “anti-Goemkar.”
“We are ready to give an answer to anyone opposing the Opinion Poll verdict. They are anti-Goemkar,” said Lalana Gimonkar, the general secretary of the youth wing. “Velingkar attacked our president regarding his Opinion Poll stand, but without the Opinion Poll, Goa would just be another taluka in Maharashtra,” she said.
She went on to say, “All those who are going around with a “Maharashtrawadi” attitude, we will oppose them and will always oppose them.”
She was backed by other members of the party’s youth wing including president Raj Malik who invited those
who wanted to wave black flags at Sardesai during
Republic Day.
Malik also said that the Goa Suraksha Manch was playing the politics of division and have been undermining the importance of Opinion Poll day.
The youth wing however, maintained its stand that Liberation Day had its own importance and that there was “no question” about its importance.
