FC Goa fans who had camped at the SAG ticket counter, Fatorda before the crack of dawn were fortunate enough to lay their hands on the tickets for the Indian Super League semi-final first leg clash between FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC.
Hundreds others, however, returned home disappointed without the tickets as the organisers maintained that all the 4,000 tickets up for sale were sold out. Some of the fans, from far and wide, had descended at the SAG ticket counter as early as 4 in the morning. At the crack of dawn, the queue of soccer enthusiasts only grew with each passing hour before a serpentine queue of fans could be seen queuing up at the SAG ground, when the ticket counter was finally opened for sale at 11 am.
A number of agitated fans demanded to know how the tickets were sold out in less than a day when the stadium has a huge seating capacity to accommodate around 18,000 spectators. Till late in the evening, dozens of soccer fans were seen at the SAG ticket counter with the hope of laying their hands on the tickets, but in vain.
