The economic survey also indicated that Goa’s primary sector (agriculture, mining) continues to shrink leaving it at just 3.84% of the Goan economy, while the secondary sector (manufacturing) made up of 31.67% and the tertiary sector (services) made up for 64.49%.
The Net State Domestic Product, which is the monetary measure of the volume of all goods and services produced in the State after deducting the depreciation from the GSDP, showed a growth rate of 5.29% as against 14.93% in the previous year.
“The growth rate under the primary sector, which was around 10% during 2013-14 fell drastically to -16.44% during 2014-15. This can be attributed to huge fall in mining and quarrying sub sectors,” the economic survey reads.
