At a meeting at Curchorem on Thursday, the association leaders gave a call to the members to join a new mega association of liquor vendors.
Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, who was present for the meeting, said the liquor association members should stay united over the issue. He also said he will be with the liquor vendors in bad times.
All Goa Bar and Restaurant Owners Association president, Micheal Carrasco said on December 15, 2016, the Apex court ordered a ban on liquor outlets located within 500 metres from national and state highways.  He urged the liquor vendors to join a newly-formed bar and liquor vendors association so that they can approach the government authorities to find a solution. “Goa’s Excise Policy Act, 1969 needs to be amended. The government should file a review petition on behalf of liquor vendors from Goa,” Goa Liquor Traders Association president Dattaprasad
