NCP State President Jose Philip D'Souza on Saturday said the party would await instructions from NCP President Sharad Pawar on its stand for the MP elections in the State.Speaking to reporters, D'Souza said Pawar’s decision to take back his resignation was a huge relief for the party and its workers in Goa.
“The NCP Goa had also appealed to Pawar to take back his resignation and he finally did so. Pawar is the founder of the party and his leadership and guidance is very vital for the party in Goa and at the national level. While opposition parties at the national level need Pawar, his presence is enough for the party to function better, especially when Lok Sabha elections are coming up in 2024," said D’Souza.
"NCP will play an important role in Goa and the country for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. We have our own strategy but being a national party, we may have to wait for directives from our party leaders.”
“We have already sent out signals to the party and we will have to wait if we will have our candidates from Goa or we will play a united role with other national parties at the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Goa," said D'Souza.
