Explicit digital posters advertising a “nude party” with foreign and Indian “girls” in the Morjim area has sent officials and the State administration in a tizzy and forced the police to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of the whole episode.

The digital poster which first surfaced on Sunday and explicitly promises to offer ‘unlimited sex’ went viral on social media platforms on Monday and caught the attention of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who ordered that the police conduct a probe to get to the bottom of story.

According to a top police officer, Crime Branch has been asked to conduct the probe.

Attempts to contact Superintendent of Police (Crime) Pankaj Kumar Singh, proved futile as the officer was not taking calls on his official cell phone number, but an officer working under him said no offence had been registered yet on the basis of the poster.

However, the Crime Branch has launched a preliminary enquiry into the whole episode, he said, adding that the digital poster does not advertise any date for the ‘nude party’ and has a single cell phone number.

The Crime Branch is tracking the identification and other details of the person owning the SIM card pertaining to the number, the officer who did not want to be identified said.

Another senior police official said it was unusual that such a digital poster was so brazenly advertising a nude party, indicating that it could possibly be a prank on social media. The officer said, it could also be the case of tarnishing the image of the person whose phone number is provided in the digital poster.

“All possible angles will be covered under the probe,” the officer said.

When the poster first surfaced on Sunday, a call made to the number elicited a response from a man speaking English in an Indian accent, who sought a screenshot of the poster from the source to take forward the conversation.

On Monday however, the phone was switched off.

One of the two posters circulating advertised “unlimited sex style and class with luxury and comfort”, and offered “15 to 20 foreigner girls and 10 plus Indians”.

Outrage against poster in Morjim
PERNEM: People from in and around Morjim have reacted with outrage against a poster advertising a ‘Private Goa Party’ and photos of several nude women that went viral on social media.
While politicians have denounced the poster and threatened strict action against those involved in promoting such events, Pernem police posted teams in and around Morjim to inquire if such a party had taken place or if it was being planned.
An angry Morjim Sarpanch Vaishali Shetgaonkar strongly denounced the advertisement and warned that such events would not be tolerated in any part of the village. “We will not tolerate any such activity which would tarnish the image of Morjim. Those organising such obnoxious and vulgar parties will face strict action,” warned Shetgaonkar.
