The Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) has approved investment proposals worth approximately Rs 622 crore across key sectors, with the projects expected to generate around 3,180 employment opportunities in the State.

The Board also deliberated on the proposed Large-Scale Industries Incentive Scheme, which has been formulated following extensive consultations with industry stakeholders, prospective investors and government departments. The proposal has now been forwarded for further evaluation and approval.

The approvals were granted at the 42nd board meeting of the Goa-IPB, chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho, GIDC Chairman and MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, and other board members.

In a press statement issued, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that the Board cleared a diverse portfolio of projects spanning manufacturing, hospitality, education, electronics, shipbuilding and emerging technology sectors, reflecting Goa's growing appeal as a destination for high-value investments.

The approved proposals include units for automotive components, optical instruments manufacturing, electronics and technology development centres, advanced fabrication facilities, hospitality ventures, educational institutions and infrastructure for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

CMO said the projects are expected to strengthen Goa's industrial ecosystem by attracting sustainable investments while creating employment opportunities for local youth.

The Chief Minister said the proposed incentive scheme is aimed at attracting large-scale industries to the State by offering a competitive policy framework while complementing Goa's long-term industrial growth strategy.

Reiterating the government's focus on balanced economic development, CMO said the State remains committed to creating an industry-friendly ecosystem that promotes innovation, facilitates quality investments and generates employment.

“CM reaffirmed that the government remains committed to creating an industry-friendly ecosystem that fosters innovation, attracts quality investments, generates employment, and accelerates Goa's journey towards a Swayampurna Goa,” CMO stated.
