Goa Police on Friday released an elaborate traffic arrangement to facilitate smooth vehicular movement during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), slated to begin on Sunday after a gap of two years when the event was held in a hybrid format.
The Traffic wing has announced route diversions and temporary parking space till the conclusion of the event on November 28. For those attending the opening and closing ceremony at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium on November 20 and November 28, respectively, the Traffic officials have requested the visitors to approach the venue via NH17 and on reaching GMC Bambolim to take the Goa University road till the venue; whereas those coming from Panaji can reach the venue via Taleigao or Dona Paula.
The Inox lane (General Bernard Guedes Road), road leading to D B Marg from Panaji market along the INOX complex will be closed near CCP market complex for the ensure period of nine days. Car passes will be issued by ESG indicating the category of the pass and respective parking lots.
The department has identified parking lots for the opening and closing ceremonies wherein Zone A 1 will have permission to park permits in the Stadium and Zone A 2 will be allowed parking in the open space adjacent to the stadium, near the
overhead tank.
Parking for the general public has been allotted in the open space near Goa University Cricket Ground as well as open space near All India Radio Compound.
On the other days during the festival period, the vehicles with car passes only will be allowed to park in the service lane along the INOX while the remaining will be allowed to park at Bandodkar football ground. No vehicles will be allowed to park on DBB Road.
