It’s an all-out war on drugs or at least it seems so.

After nabbing two men of Karnataka with 1 kilogram of Ganja, Goa Police are travelling to Maharashtra to trace the accused who allegedly supplied the drugs to them.

Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi informed that the two accused – Ratan Awale (20) and Abbas Kharushi (19) – who were arrested by Colvale Police have confessed that they procured the drugs from a specific place in Maharashtra.

“A team of Colvale Police is leaving for Maharashtra on Friday to trace the suppliers. The accused duo revealed that since the tourist season is going to begin soon, they had come to sell the drugs to prospective customers in the State,” Dalvi informed.

The duo was arrested in a raid conducted at Housing Board, Colvale based on specific inputs, police said.

Both the accused have been arrested under sections 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29 of NDPS Act and are presently cooling their heels behind bars.

The raiding team consisted of PI Somnath Mahajik, PSI Sushant Sangodkar, LPSI Sonam Vernekar, Head Constable Sunil Mandrekar and Constables Suraj Kinlekar, Sandip Malik, Vinayak Palav and others.

Colvale Police are investigating further.
