As seasonal rainfall completed three months on Saturday, August 31, Goa recorded a 45.9 per cent surplus in rainfall.
According to the IMD Goa, the State received an actual average rainfall of 3,923.9 mm (154.48 inches) from June 1 to August 31, compared to the normal average of 2,689.3 mm (105.87 inches) – a 45.9 per cent surplus.
On Saturday alone, Goa recorded an average of 26 mm of rainfall, higher than the normal 18.1 mm, marking a 143.4 per cent excess for the day. August recorded 38.10 inch rainfall.
Although no weather warnings are in place for Sunday, IMD Goa indicated that moderate rainfall is likely across the State, with a yellow alert issued from September 2 to 4.
