Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday announced that the consultant for the state government will float the Request for Quotation (RFQ) within 15 days for the Dongri Tal II coal block in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh allotted to Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).
The Chief Minister informed that the consultant has already prepared the RFQ for Dongri Tal coal block in Madhya Pradesh and that the same will be floated within 15 days time.
Consultant a’XYKno Capital Services Ltd is expected to float the Request for Proposal (RFP) for appointment of mine developer and operator (MDO) for the coal block.
The mining lease area of the coal block is spread over 1,392 hactres with an annual target capacity of 2.9 MT. The allotment to GIDC was a part of the fifth tranche of the allotment by Union Coal Ministry. The inking of the agreement was delayed initially with the state government struggling to secure funds to the tune of Rs 196 crore to pay the performance guarantee in November 2019. It was later decided that an MDO would be identified to pay this performance and bank guarantee. So far, the central government has granted numerous extensions to the Goa government for completion of the formalities.
Sawant further disclosed that the government has decided to drop the Goa Bhavan project in Delhi and that the consultant for the solar project has been asked to rework the project after a study.
The CM chaired a meeting of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) steering committee which also deliberated upon various projects including prominent tourism related projects in the state.
Speaking about this, Chairman of Goa tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and and Mandre MLA Dyanand Sopte stated, “Three tourism-related projects were discussed during the meeting including the Panaji-Reis Magos ropeway which is expected to have a minimum height of 35 mtsfrom the seawater. The project will give maximum revenue. All procedures of Anjuna and Britona property have been asked to be completed by January 2021. The government is also mulling the shift of the seaplane project to Old Goa. The government is not spending anything on these projects as they fall under the PPP model.”
