PANAJI: Goa University has approved campus Wi-Fi access for students’ mobile phones following a memorandum submitted by NSUI Goa State Secretary Abdul Sayed to the University Registrar.
Under the approved facility, students will be allowed to connect one mobile device each to the university’s Wi-Fi network for academic purposes.
The university’s Computer Centre has directed all Deans to collect the MAC addresses of students’ mobile phones to register the devices on the network.
Sayed welcomed the decision, describing it as a major step towards improving connectivity for students on campus.
“This is a major win for students who need mobile connectivity for academic purposes. We thank the administration and will keep working to improve campus infrastructure,” he said.
Students have been advised to submit their mobile device details through their respective departments for registration.
