The matter came up for hearing on Wednesday and a witness for Karnataka was cross examined by Atmaram NS Nadkarni, the Senior Counsel who is appearing for the state of Goa.
When the witness was questioned if the projects being planned by the Karnataka government would have an impact on Goa, the witness is reported to have replied in the affirmative.
When the witness was asked if he had included Goa's concerns as far as its environment, resources, flora and fauna were concerned, the witness was unable to provide a clear reply.
According to the Advocate General, the Tribunal specifically observed that the witness had failed to respond to the question raised by the counsel representing Goa.
Incidentally, the counsel representing Maharashtra did not cross examine the witness of Karnataka, but had chosen to cross-examine the witness from Goa.
Besides Nadkarni, others present at the hearing included Dattaprasad Lawande, Advocate General for Goa, Pratap Venugopal, Salvador S Rebello, Chetan Pandit, Consultant, WRD Engineers Premanand Kamat, SD Patil, Gopinath Desai and Dilip Naik.
