Launched at the hands of Goa’s nightingale Lorna, and registered under MSME, ‘The Goan Sip’ is entering into fourth year on February 9.
Conceptualised by Betty Rodrigues, Goa’s only woman entrepreneur in packed drinking water manufacturing sector, the Golden Sip comes with a promise of continuing the hygienic business to their clients, small kiosks to five-star hotels across Goa.
The current trends show that the consumption of trusted and quality packaged water will rise three folds in the next few years considering the vast contamination of natural ground water due to release of sewerage into the ground.
“However, The Goan Sip provides water from deep wells engineered specially for the purpose. We do not have massive wrap water storage tanks but process directly from fresh source to avoid any formation of bacteria and eColi. Our plant is equipped with a modern micro and chemical labs functioning round the clock,” claims Rodrigues.
Recalling the struggles after opening the plant a month after the pandemic was declared worldwide, Rodrigues stated that she retained all those who were on rolls despite huge losses and the plant being shut during those initial days.
“We managed to sustain during those testing times, taking risk of keeping all our employees on roll, though the business plunged into minus and we could register no sales,” she said.
