The Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (Goa-SEIAA) has decided to charge administrative-cum-processing fees to dry dock and barge repair projects seeking clearance under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification.

During its meeting held earlier this month, SEIAA decided to charge Rs 1.50 lakh as administrative-cum-processing fees for granting CRZ clearance for dry dock and barge repair activities in the State.

The Authority had received an application for issuance of CRZ clearance from M/s Desa Engineering Works to grant permission for dry dock and barge repair in Cortalim.

“The Authority noted that there is no mention of Administrative-cum-processing fees/charges for these projects. After detailed discussion, the Authority decided to charge Rs 1.50 lakh as fees from the project proponent seeking CRZ clearance  and the same be paid before issuing prior EC,” the Authority said.

As per the notification, the administrative-cum processing fee for sand mining is Rs one lakh while for major minerals it varies from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 30 lakh for grant of CRZ clearance or EC.

Airport expansion attracts Rs 10 lakh as EC application fee and for ports and harbour, the fees are between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
