Gold, cash worth Rs 90,000 stolen

MARGAO: Unidentified culprits stole gold and cash, all worth Rs 90,000, from a house located at Aquem.

According to Margao town police, the incident occurred between December 24 and 25 when unidentified culprits broke open the window grills of a house belonging to one Dilip, a resident of Aquem, and decamped with two gold bangles and cash amount, all worth Rs 90,000.

Margao town police have registered an offence under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of IPC.

Woman dies of poisoning at Fatorpa

MARGAO: A 22-year-old woman, resident of Fatorpa, died of poisoning on December 25.

According to Cuncolim police, the death occurred after the deceased, one Sushmita (22), had consumed poison on December 24. She was immediately brought to Hospicio Hospital, Margao but breathed her last while being moved to GMC, Bambolim.

A case under Section 174 of CrPC has been registered. Further investigations are in progress.
