Addressing media persons, State BJP general secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawade said, “Even if they align for the upcoming polls, it will not affect BJP in any way. BJP is very strong as far as the organisational setup is concerned.”
Taking a dig at GSM, Tanawade said, “If their alliance happens, it should remain strong. A few days back they had announced an alliance with GPP and even announced Pandurang Raut as the candidate in Bicholim, whereas now we are reading media reports that they have decided to support MGP in Bicholim.”
“We have not broken the alliance and even they have not announced it. But simultaneously, we are reading about they (MGP) aligning with some other party. So till the time they do not convey it to us officially, we will consider that the alliance is still on,” he said, adding that BJP has already begun with its preparations to go it alone and has decided to contest in 37 constituencies.
