The State government will hold a day-long 'Digi Dhan Mela' in a boost to incentivise the government’s moves towards digital cash transactions.
The mela to be held on December 28, at Inox Courtyard, Panaji and will go on from 10 am to 10 pm and will include the launch of Lucky Grahak Yojana and Digi Dhan Yavhar Yojana, at 3.30 pm on the same day.
“In order to incentivise digital payments, the Government of India, kick-started the Lucky Grahak Yojana and Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana awards. The draws for these events will take place in 100 different cities around India, in an event at each of these cities where ‘Digi Dhan Mela’ will also be organised,” Ameya Abhyankar, Director of Information Technology said while briefing the media on Monday.
Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha in the presence of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Union Minister of State (IC) for AYUSH Shripad Naik will inaugurate the Lucky Grahak Yojana while the National Payment Corporation of India will carry out the lucky draw.
Flea Market vendors are participating in the mela to brief the consumers about POS Machines, E-Payment and Digital Payment. Rotary Club of Panaji and Rise Nation are CSR partners for the ‘Digi Dhan Mela’.
The day’s events will include a series of contests throughout the day and will see the participation of 18 financial institutions.
