Gold ornaments worth Rs 2.30 lakh stolen from St Inez jewellery store, police initiate probe

PANAJI
Panaji police have launched an investigation into the alleged theft of gold ornaments worth Rs 2.30 lakh from a jewellery showroom in St Inez.

According to a complaint filed by the Branch Manager of the store, two unidentified persons stole the valuables amounting to Rs 2.30 lakh from the store while posing as customers on June 24 afternoon.

Just two weeks ago, another jewellery store fell victim to theft when a mother-daughter duo poses as customers interested to buy diamond jewellery. 

Panaji police arrested Geeta Chopra, aged 60, and Anju Chopra, 39 years, from Delhi for allegedly stealing a diamond bangle worth Rs 1.32 lakh.
