Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) General Manager Sanjay Ghate has said the interstate KTC bus service which was resumed recently has been getting a good response from the public.
With cases of Covid declining, the KTC had resumed its interstate bus service on select routes in Karnataka and Maharastra from September 3.
“The KTC has started five electric buses on the Goa-Karwar route and this has received good response. Besides, seven KTC buses operating to and from Pune and other routes,” said Ghate.
He said passengers who have received both doses of the Covid vaccine are permitted to book tickets.
“Many people have booked tickets to return from Mumbai to Goa and this bus service has also started. The KTC has decided to operate buses at same low rates.”
“Earlier, the KTC was operating 94 buses on interstate routes. Now, the number of buses is increasing slowly with the demand,” said Ghate.
Ghate informed that the Goa-Hyderabad bus has not been restarted as yet.
“Few passengers are opting to travel as people in the software field are working online and not travelling due to work-from-home arrangements.”
“Similarly, the Goa-Hubballi KTC bus service was also cancelled due to low response, but the Goa-Belagavi bus service has received good response from passengers,” Ghat added.
