Many supporters of Gawade were present for the meeting that was convened at Mardol ground. Though there was no stage and no chairs to seat, his supporters patiently heard the speech of their leader.
Noted stage artiste Prashant Mardolkar and writer Hema Naik were present with Gawade. The three stood on a rickshaw carrier and addressed the crowd.
The rally started from Masjid at Mardol and culminated in a meeting on the ground after seeking blessing of goddess Mahalsa.
Addressing his supporters, Gawade stressed on educational reforms in his
constituency.
“We have to give quality education to our children and we can create good society only by doing this. To tackle the issue of unemployment, there is a need to create infrastructure,” he said.
“We have to bring back reading culture by encouraging people to read. It is a must to develop ourselves and we have to do this exercise right from primary educational level,” he added.
“I have plans to create infrastructure to tackle the unemployment problem. We can come up with a concept of residential school and there is also a need to increase seats in professional colleges,” Gawade said.
“After seeing this large crowd, some will try to create rift within our community. We should be vigilant and should not fall prey to such tactics of the rivals,” he said.
“Give me one chance to represent you. I will not betray you at anytime. I will always take you into confidence,” he added.
Prashant Mardolkar said since last many years no development has taken place in this constituency.
Hema Naik also appealed to the voters of Priol to bring historical change.
