Govt accused trying to shut down Dabolim airport

OLD GOA

Stating that the BJP government wants to shut down the Dabolim Airport, RGP MLA Viresh Borkar has slammed the BJP for fooling the Goans time and again that the airport will not be closed.

Speaking to The Goan, Borkar pointed out that recently the airline SpiceJet stopped its operations at Dabolim making it one of the many airlines shifting their operations to Mopa. “Now, only three airlines are continuing their operations at Dabolim. So, the question arises on what basis the government is making statements that the Dabolim Airport will not be closed,” Borkar quipped.

“And to rub salt to injury, a BJP minister is stating that Goa needs a third airport. This is nothing but sheer stupidity on part of the BJP government and they just want to play with the sentiments of the people till the Lok Sabha polls get over,” Borkar informed.

“The people in South Goa should understand the games played by the BJP government and teach them a lesson at the LS polls,” the MLA urged.
