Govt appoints 8 top babus on Covid duty in North & South

PANAJI

Government has appointed eight senior bureaucrats to handle Covid related duties in each district of the State.

IAS officer Ankita Anand and Managing Director of Goa Handicrafts, Rural and Small Scale Industries Corporation Narayan Gad have been appointed as additional collectors for North Goa and IAS officer Mekala Chaitanya Prasad has been appointed as the additional collector for South Goa. 

Deputy Director (Electricity) Kuldeep Arolkar and Registrar of Cooperative Societies Arvind Khutkar have been given the responsibility as OSD to North Goa Collector for Covid-related duties. Similarly, Director for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dipak Desai, Director of Settlement and Land Records Johnson Fernandes and State Registrar cum Head of Notary Services Ashutosh Apte have been appointed as the OSD to South Goa Collector for Covid related duties. 

The order to this effect was issued by the Department of Personnel on Tuesday.

Shops selling non-essential items to remain shut till May 10: CM

PANAJI Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday announced additional Covid-related restrictions to combat the State’s high positivity rate. Shops selling non-essential items have been ordered to remain closed from 7 am on Wednesday till 7 am May 10 while sit-in at restaurants has been prohibited. Restaurant kitchens and takeaways have been allowed to continue functioning for home-delivery.These restrictions will be enforced along with the restrictions announced…
